Saturday

Funny start to the day. I looked at my little clock and it said 9.45 am. I shot up and looked at DB's clock 7.45 am phew.......my little clock is regulated by a radio signal from somewhere on the continent, think they got their countries mixed up.

DB went out to the garden to, do a bit of a tidy up in the shed and then to string the onions and shallots that were drying off in the plastic greenhouse.

I sliced an onion and chopped up some of the tomato's and made tomato puree.

Then I went out and cut the front grass. Once that was done I re-arranged the pots in the nursery at the side of the house and moved the little tomato house to the side of the plastic green house. That was me done for the morning.

DB has just gone for his siesta, I am going to read for a while. Have done a shopping list for tomorrow, need to go to Morrison and also Lidl.

Its fine but windy. I have put the bath towels out on the line, they are not drying properly now the mornings are getting colder. It will be ok once we have the heating in. Keep looking at the sewing roon and shuddering, having to move all that stuff....aarrgghhhh and empty the airing cupboard too...........

Update......

We do not often go out but today when DB got up after his siesta we decided to go to the local Hospice coffee shop for afternoon tea.....we really enjoyed tea for 2 with scones, better and jam. I did manage to get out of the shop without buying any more crystal!! Major win there.

  1. Fingers crossed this is the last time you have to move stuff to get the central heating done but it will so be worth it. You seem to do very well pacing yourself but give in and take a nap or long sit down each afternoon. You deserve it.

DB sounds much better - is he?

Thanks for writing a blog entry each and every day. I enjoy following.

  2. Isn't it nice to realize you haven't lost 2 hours of morning time by oversleeping by accident? AMIL had a wall clock that gave us Pacific time so was permanently 3 hours behind even tho the time zone switch on the back was set for Eastern time.

Wishing you inspiration as to where to put things so they're out of the workmen's way! Is there a corner of the sitting room where stuff can go? Under the bed? On top of a wardrobe? Behind the settee? Just tell yourself it's temporary. :)

DH plans to trim shrubs today and that will be a chore since they've grown so tall. I plan to choose or design borders using small HSTs for two small gift quilts. Perhaps I'll sew?

Our temperatures are forecast to cool into the 70s*F starting tomorrow so that will be a delight.

    Hugs!

  3. YUM! Good decision to venture out for afternoon tea!

Methinks you might just consider fulfilling some wish in your heart as a means to celebrate the central heating work finish. Between now and then, you can consider what that special item might be: that Ikea bookcase, fabric, crystal, yarn, flower bulbs, or ...?! A meal out might be nice, too, but there would be nothing lasting as a reminder of the last of the needed updates to the house.

I've sorted the wee HSTs leftover from the star quilt and am pressing the ones that go with the two stars (turquoise and orange) that will soon grow larger with borders.

    Hugs!
